PS Plus has finally revealed the games coming to the service in August 2024, and it's another big month for Extra and Premium subscribers.
PS Plus has a lot to offer players, which is good in the face of such heavy competition. Players of Sony’s console have to be subscribed to at least PS Plus Essential if they want to play the games they’ve purchased online, but if the same users want to shell out a little more, they’re offered a smorgasbord of games to choose from, ranging from PlayStation icons to indie gems they might otherwise never have heard of.
PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers aim to prove that the subscription model isn’t exclusive to Xbox Game Pass, and as the recent Essential additions have been pretty impressive, hopes are high for the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers to deliver after the PS Plus July 2024 brought with it series instalments from Final Fantasy, No More Heroes and The Jackbox Party Pack.
This month has been a huge one, as it has been revealed that our headliner is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a game that has been celebrated as one of the very best RPGs of all time. Of course, Geralt has now become an icon thanks to the game's Netflix series, but the franchise reached its peak in the sprawling game that offered players the chance to explore an expansive fantasy world and chop down monsters that rivalled even The Elder Scrolls' attention to detail.
Also joining the service is Cult of the Lamb, a fascinating and charming game that blends village management with roguelike dungeon crawling. Its art style effectively diffuses the thematic darkness of leading your own cult, offering sacrifices and punishing your defectors, but it comes together in an immensely infectious package. It doesn't end here, either, as the PS Plus Extra and Premium August 2024 roster has anime games galore, a bold racing simulator and even a classic shooter franchise to boot.
As revealed by PlayStation in a blog post, here is every game coming to the PS Plus Extra and Premium roster in August:
Members are also still able to download Lego, namely Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Five Nights At Freddy’s Security Breach, and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, until Monday, September 2.
